Blogging for the team
Some weeks ago I wrote an article about business blogging for Isle of Man Today. One thing I didn’t refer to directly was blogging for internal audiences. Today at BusinessWeek.com Karen Klein gives a good explanation of how internal blogs work, and how they can change the culture of an organisation.
Blogging is a cost effective, yet powerful, medium to facilitate communication within an organisation. But remember top-down control of internal messages go out the window.
But it’s worth doing because your staff members are likely blogging anyway. If you want to be included in the conversation about you, your company and its issues, you should embrace your role as facilitator, or risk being left out.

Actually, if you look at the trend lines… as the external blogosphere gets more noisy and polluted… internal group blogs are a logical and necessary development.
Agreed Amanda. But I think corporates are still too skittish to adopt internal blogs wholescale. They will in time, though.
