John Plunkett has a post at the  Organgrinder about how fed up Sir Trevor McDonald is with the spin dished out by politicians. 

I’ve always liked watching Sir Trevor read the news. He’s got an authoritative air and, for me, hearing the news from him is like getting solemn advice from a favourite, much-loved uncle. 

Apparently, he thinks the propensity for political spin undermines our democracy.  I think he’s probably right.  But what’s the alternative?
