Vendor survey highlights internal coms priorities

We’ve been telling them this for years.  People need to quick access to current corporate information to be good at their jobs.

This week Computing looks at the issue from an infrastructure point of view.  They are reporting the findings of a survey from vendor Information Builders which found that employees would be more effective in their work if they had access to information that was easy to find and was presented in a way that would help them make more informed decisions.  Apparently 71 per cent of respondents said they would be more effective if they could access internal data via Google or similar tools.

DrumI notice that IT Week covered the research too.  So the survey created great PR for the company (one of the oldest tricks in the book hehe). But the point remains, no matter which tools are provided, to keep your workforce effective and motivated you must put communications at the top of your agenda.

Professional communicators have been banging this drum forever.  I welcome vendors to join the tattoo.
