The ‘new pink’
The Isle of Man Examiner launched Business News, the new ‘pink’ weekly supplement yesterday. It offers a good mix of articles on business and industry in the Isle of Man along with some stories from farther afield.
It aims to be broad based, although this first issue has quite a strong focus on technology and telecoms. This reflects the most topical news of the week, the arrival of two new mobile service providers to the Island.
Other industry coverage includes space, transport, finance, commercial property and business in the community.
There is a new weekly feature, Tech Talk, where a new columnist, ahem….drum roll please, Sherrilynne Starkie looks at business and technology and the business of technology. This week’s column focuses on how companies can make their web presence more “mobile” friendly. Next week, I’ll look at the role that venture capitalists can play in early-stage or start-up technology companies. Please feel free shoot me an email with any story ideas or comments you may have.
There are plans afoot to publish content online but in the meantime, ‘the new pink’ is a great step forward in business news coverage on the Island. Pick up a copy today.
