Blogging ROI

Charlene LiI tuned in yesterday to Forrester analyst, Charlene Li’s Web cast, The ROI of blogging, and it was an hour well spent. She took almost 400 participants step by step through the whys and hows of measuring the return on investment for corporate blogs.  The guidance she provided will inform Strive’s future social media strategies.  Here’s a summary of Charlene Li’s recommendations:

  • Successful blog management requires measurement
  • Make your best effort to quantify intangible benefits
  • Separate one-time, recurring and future costs
  • Identify and manage the major risks associated with blogs

Does any of that sound familiar to PR pros?  Uh-huh…that’s exactly what I thought.  She gives quite a bit of detail on her blog so be sure to check it out.

The event was run by Cymfony, a market analytics company with offices in the USA and India.  They did a great job.  No hard sell; just some awareness raising.  Well done.
