Manx news to go multi-media?

The Press Gazette is reporting that Johnston Press, publishers of the Isle of Man Examiner and its sister publications, is planning on rolling out a multi-media news room model originally developed at the Lancashire Evening Post.

Apparantly they’ve had a huge boost in website traffic and the newspaper sales have really strengthened.  So now the publisher hopes to roll out state-of-the-art video journalism equipment across the company’s newspaper empire.

I hear that Isle of Man newsrooms should benefit before Christmastime this year.  Hopefully we’ll see a lot more news getting reported, and more indepth reporting too as journalists get access to new technology and better resources.  It can only be good news for Manx news.
