November 17th: this week’s top 5
Yes, I’m a day late once again. Sorry about that…pressures of work don’t you know! But I’ve taken the time to read through all my bookmarked stories this morning and have come up this week’s list. Happy reading…
1. Have you heard of Hypertextual Distraction Disorder (HDD)? Itjournalist explains how hyperlinks affect the way we read and has some advice on how to manage the condition. (I suffer.)
2. Over at bitemarks Trevor Jonas does a good job of rounding up all the news distribution services including those that serve social media. Good to know.
3. Is your organisation ready for social media? Ogilvy’s John Bell is running a Cosmo Quiz to evaluate your readiness. Apparently Strive Public Relations is more ready than most.
4. Enough already! PRWatch is still blathering on about the use of VNRs in American television news. They don’t get it. Market forces will sort this out, if it needs to be.
5. Apparently the BBC intends to pay citizen reporters. Steve Rubel explains the deals to be had. I don’t think too many will get rich quick.
And what dear fellow Strivers, have you all been reading?
