Time names me person of the year

Yup, it’s true! I am Person of the Year for 2006 according to Time magazine. Well, actually it named all of us involved in user generated content on the Internet.![]()
The BBC is reporting that this year, the US magazine has chosen to recognise the public for taking control of the global media and getting involved in the virtual world.
“It’s about the many wresting power from the few and helping one another for nothing and how that will not only change the world, but also change the way the world changes,” Time magazine’s Lev Grossman writes.
I feel humbled at this honour. Thank you everyone.

Congrats! It just so happens that I won it too!
I feel kind of bad for anyone who used it as part of their claims to fame in the past. “So and So is a Nobel Prize winner, a UN Peace Ambassor, and Time Magazine’s Person of the Year.”
“Big deal. I’ve been Time Magazine’s Person of the Year too.”
I mean, now that everyone’s got one, it’s hardly even worth putting on your resume. (Which probably won’t stop me from doing it.)
Thanks Stephen and GW. Maybe we should all try for the Nobel next year?
So it really is all about me. I mean, us.
