January 19: This week’s top 5

A weekend in Paris made this a short week for me, and I’ve been rushing around ever since I got back. But I did manage to get some reading time in. Here’s my faves for this week. Number 5

1. The Guardian’s OrganGrinder has a good summary of a report on how to make money from user generated content published by Screen Digest. It predicts that advertising will continue to be the biggest money winner.

2. Gapingvoid has a list of 41 random notes on blogging. Funny. (Hint: read the last one first.)

3. More good advice from Dan Stantow...the benefits of reading copy out loud before signing it off. I’ve been doing this more and more as we move further into the paperless society. It really helps improve the quality of writing.
4. Steve Rubel discusses how blogging has been successful for mainstream media. I think it’s a trend that will continue to grow.

5. Owen Lystrup gives some guidance on the craft of writing blog posts. It makes my list because of his headline: Your blog post is boring. That kinda says it all. Love it!

  1. Thanks, for the link Sherrilynne!

    BTW, it’s spelled with a “U” not an “O.” :)

  2. Sorr Owen…I fixed that for you.

  3. Don’t worry, it happens all the time.

    Thanks!
