Congratulations Enigma Enterprise!

It’s been my pleasure over the past several months to work with a group of young people through the Isle of Man Junior Achievement Young Enterprise Company Programme in which 16 groups of secondary students formed companies to bring products or services to market. I was lucky enough to get assigned as and advisor to a group of 12 bright kids at Ramsey Grammar School who called themselves Enigma Enterprise.

Last night, at a gala awards evening at the Villa Marina, Enigma Enterprise picked up the top prize (and several others) as the ‘best company’. Their idea of creating and manufacturing a deck of playing cards to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Isle of Man TT clearly impressed the judges. With orders for more than 2,500 units from some of the Island’s best High Street retailers, the Enigma’s bottom line speaks volumes. I’ve worked with marketing departments of some global “blue-chip” companies that could not have achieved as much success with the same time and resources!

But the hard work is not finished. Now, Enigma will go to the Berlin finals to compete for the Isle of Man against Europe’s brightest young entrepreneurs. Congratulations Enigma! And good luck!

  1. Congratulations Enigma! It just shows how forward thinking young people are today especially with the right resources and encouragement. A feather in every ones cap who is involved. I am sure there are a lot of companies that would like to work with these individuals.
