New PR gains deeper understanding
This week I have had no technological troubles to speak of and everything has run quite smoothly in that area. I have been working more on practicing my writing by having a stab at another press release. They’re coming along, and I am getting better and I am also still learning with each one I write what to do, or more importantly what not to do.
I have also been learning a bit more about different clients that I haven’t yet worked on previously. Since starting I have mainly focused on one client due to the work for them coming in thick and fast. It was nice to be able to learn a little more about what some of our other clients do and look forward to learning more in the future.
I continue to write the email pitches for one of our clients which last week had interest from an off island publication. We were liaising on the issue while decisions were being made and he decided eventually to use the full pitch for an article on their website and as a smaller snippet in their magazine.
This was good news for me and made me feel my writing must not be all that bad. I aim now just to keep on going with the press releases and try to get them up to standard. The more I do the better I will get and so I hope I will have a chance to start attempting more soon. I want the chance to not only start learning more about the writing procedure but our individual clients too.

So since the last time I commented on one of your blog posts:
* You’re “getting better” at writing releases and “learning with each one” you write.
* You have a broader understanding of your company’s clients. Thus making you more valuable to your employer.
* You helped secure coverage in both a website and magazine.
Not bad at all me thinks!
Truly interesting reading.
