Top 5: October 14

FiveJo’s still away sunning herself in Egypt, so I thought I’d pen a top five this week in her absence. Here’s what I’ve been reading this week, in no particular order.

1.  The Case Of The Missing Client hit home with me this week, as I had to make my apologies to a journalist on Computing. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

2.  From the how to cut £500m from the value of your company in one sentence department, it looks like Gerald Ratner is returning to the high street.  It only took 14 years. This will be interesting to watch.

3.  More proof that Strumpette, if nothing else, could cause a disturbance.  People don’t spend energy like this on individuals who are nice.  Are they all just fueling the fire?

4.  Martin Stabe lets us know that the Toronto Star and pulled the plug on its pdf edition a  year after it was launched. I’d wondered about the model from the outset.  Why would people want to download a pdf file of a newspaper when web news is so prevalent?

5. Seth Godin chimes in on the Radiohead pay what you want promotion that was launched earlier this week.  It’s always facinating to read his take on things.  Owen thought it was pretty cool too.
