I try not to write about Google all the time, I really do.

There is so much news coming out of the company that I could write a Google column every week if I wanted to. But the whole world covers Google and I try to avoid writing about them so that I can offer something a bit different on these pages.

But what Google did last week was so big and so important that I just cannot ignore it. So, with respect to Arthur Miller, attention must be paid.

Google has announced the launch of an open source mobile phone platform.
