February 7th: Jo’s PR top five

I’ve been off jet setting again. This time however, I ditched the summer sun and headed for a new experience on the snowy slopes. Amazingly, I returned in one piece.

1. The first thing I know a lot of people have been following, whether it be consciously or not, is the U.S. presidential election. The largest and most controversial presidential vote in American history! Tuesday this week, (5th February 08) was known as ‘Super Tuesday’ and saw Mrs Hilary Clinton take a slight lead by winning over a lot of the larger states. The question is, who do you want to win? Or better still, do you even care?Hilary Clinton

2. Facebook adds even more features! They have taken a leaf out of LinkedIn’s book and introduced the ability to recommend friends. Interesting…

3. I came across this on Pick of the Thicket and thought it was hilarious. A gay magazine editor who isn’t gay enough! Now I thought homophobic attitudes were something gay people tried to fight against. So why condemn someone else because of their sexual preference? A little prejudiced and hypocritical don’t you think?

4. Rumour has it that the writers’ strike could soon be over. With the Oscars just weeks away studio chiefs are determined not to let it suffer the same fate as the Golden Globes. Will the issues be resolved, will the ceremony go ahead or will the stars avoid it like they did the Golden Globes? I hope not! I relish picking up my copy of OK and HEAT magazine and looking at who arrived in the best frock and better still, in the worst…

5. Strive PR is also very big on analyst relations. Why is it important? Well have a look and see…
