February 29: Jo’s PR Top 5
Another week, another list of my top five’s…
1. Apparently there are five different types of UK social networker. I am a cynical clown, which one are you? Take the test on Real Buzz and find out…
2. PR stands for public relations although some seem to think it stands for press relations. Apparently PR doesn’t work and it’s as useless as ‘fancy business cards, cold-calling and mail shots’. What do you think? I agree with the blog, PR is about managing relationships and not protecting clients or “spinning news”.
3.When asking your self is PR worth it? Don’t be so quick to blame the agency some clients just don’t have the right expectations!
4. Some think its time we took a step back, stop getting carried away with social media and looked at the real purpose of a news release. Using social media is great, but as long as the technology isn’t replacing the content.
5.Although I no longer am one, a student that is, the Student PR Blog by Chris Clarke has been tagged as a really good blog for those of you who are still studying. His article’ Getting Hired in PR’ went down well at Think, thought, thunk and with me too.
