Borat’s PM gets blogging

- Image via Wikipedia
Recently a Gen Y woman I know said, “Give up blogging! It’s so last year!” I quipped back, “But in the Isle of Man it’s so two years from now!”
Fortunately I’ve seen a lot of evidence over the last quarter that proves me wrong. People and organisations are starting to ‘get’ this whole social media thing, and I find it rather encouraging.
But then today I saw this story about Kazakhstan. Now they really ‘get it’.
The prime minister has ordered that all the ministers should now have personal blogs hosted on the official websites of the ministries and agencies. He really understands the value of engaging with people this way, and sees blogs as an excellent source of feedback. He’s right.
He’s so convinced by this, that he’s been blogging himself for the last ten days. I say well done Kazakhstan and way to show the rest of the world the the way forward.
Now when will we get Tony Brown and Alan Bell on track?
