Podcasting is a technology that a number of individuals, companies and even traditional media stations are starting to embrace. It’s a relatively new term, around five years old, that encompases the creation and distribution of digital media is a form that can be subscribed to and syndicated. Now, everyone has a channel to create their own media, their own radio show, their own specific flavour of verbal diatribe to educate, amuse and even entertain anyone who is ready to listen.
This talk is aimed at demonstrating the technology and toolsets behind podcasting and to give an opportunity to learn more about the media and how it may apply to you, whether in a personal or professional capacity. It will include the recording, editing and publishing of a podcast as well as a short talk about the applications podcasting can be used for. Speaker, Derek Richardson, is an avid podcaster who produces two podshows on a regular basis, The Sound Republic Podcast and The SACM Podcast. He’ll be walking through his techniques and talking about his experiences in this innovative sphere.
