April 18: PR top 5

- Image via CrunchBase
Here’s what I’ve been reading this past week:
1. In Why PR is the prescription in BusinessWeek, ad man Steve McKee explains how a PR pro can give you a needed dose of reality.
2. Clay Shirky’s post on the failure of #amazonfail explains why, even when so many people got it wrong in acusing Amazon of discriminating against gay and lesbian literature, the mud will stick for the online bookseller. (Thanks to @jangles for pointing this one out.)
3. Nick Burcher explains how Britian’s Got Talent’s Susan Boyle has become an Internet sensation. But will she resist the temptation to have a makeover?
4. Matthew Stibbe has short list of business cliches to avoid. But I still like ‘going forward’. Soz!
5. Seth Godin explains the importance of being earnest, instead of just being snarky.

Thanks for the link to Bad Language. I thought the Seth Godin article was very helpful too. Cheers, Matthew
