Sex and Web 2.0

Well if that headline doesn’t have them visiting in droves, I don’t know what will.
First of all, the reference to sex.  Strive PR’s Isle of Man headquarters moved offices today. We are now located in Douglas on Strand Street…above the Ann Summers shop.  Entrance in the rear. Jokes and comments on a postcard, please

We’re hiring, again

Junior Writer

Since launching in the Isle of Man two years ago, Strive Public Relations Limited has experienced considerable and steady growth having acquired a broad and stable list of blue chip clients both on and off the Island. Now, thanks to recent account wins, we’re looking to strengthen our Douglas-based team with a full-time writer.
The [...]

Another new Striver

Starting tomorrow another new Striver, Deana will be contributing to Strive Notes. She’s been with us about a month and is settling in nicely.  Although she’s a media heavyweight, this is her first foray into PR side of the equation.  She’ll be discussing her journey each week.
Also this week, we’ll have some new stuff from [...]

September’s top 5

I haven’t done a Top 5 in a while because, well frankly, I’ve not been blogging so much lately. But in September I made a bit more of an effort, and of course, Jo was helping out too. So here are the most popular Strive Notes from September 2007.
5. Strive is hiring! Folks [...]

Fox’s Lair graduate goes to AIM

Last year we worked on the Fox’s Lair campaign in the Isle of Man.  Based on  the popular BBC television show, The Dragons’ Den, we had a dozen or so companies pitching for funding from a panel of venture capitalists and corporate finance experts. Ten participants were offered funding and those who took up the [...]

Coming clean on virtual consultancy

I think it’s about time I came clean about something. Strive Public Relations is no longer a virtual consultancy.  We moved to a mixed virtual/traditional model about six weeks ago. Let me explain.
The business was growing to a point where it was impossible to maintain the virtual status.  We needed to hire some support staff, [...]

Strive PR gets DTI BSS accreditation

Ever notice that the busier work gets the fewer the blog posts? There’s so much going on here at Strive PR right now, you can’t imagine.
But I did want to take the time to let everyone know that we’ve received accreditation for the Isle of Man DTI Business Support Scheme. It means that qualifying [...]

New UK virtual PR agency

I noticed on the news page of this week’s UK PR Week is running a story headlined Ex-Infopress head pioneers virtual comms agency. Congratuations and good luck to David Watson, former CEO of Infopress on the launch of his new venture, Campaignteam.
As far as David being proclaimed a pioneer? Well so be it. But [...]

Do you STRIVE for more?

Yes? Then Strive Public Relations may be the place for you. We’re looking to build our Isle of Man team to deliver inspired communications programmes to both Manx and UK-based clients. We are looking for at least two Media Mavens and two Mavens In Waiting.
We’re virtual and that means flexible. So if [...]

Strive PR’s MD to make a move?

Yup. It seems I’ve been headhunted. I’m seriously considering an offer I’ve had from the world’s most dynamic marketing, ebusiness, design and consulting agency. It’s focused on Web 2.0, and as we all know, that is the future!
I’m particularly impressed with this crowd’s direct approach in business development and the creative, cutting-edge solutions [...]

Happy Birthday Strive Notes

Yes, it was one year ago today that we launched this blog, Strive Notes. Along the way we’ve learned a lot about social media and online marketing and the blog has become an effective marketing tool for Strive Public Relations.
At times it’s been a bit of a slog keeping it up, but the effort has [...]

Strive to the rescue of RSS virgins

I know that most bloggers are pretty keen on RSS syndication, and quite right too.  But I have a feeling that there are quite a few Strivers out there that might not yet have gotten their heads around the technology.
That’s why today we launched Strive Live News Feeds on Strive’s home page.  Now all you [...]

Fundraiser victory for Strive

Strivers won a much coveted award at yesterday’s fundraiser for the Port Erin Lifeboat.

We took part in the Shell RNLI Raft Race which saw a field of about a dozen teams competing.  Despite the valiant attempt by our three-person crew, we failed to take the top prize.
But we were awarded “The Most Heroic Failure” prize [...]

Duran Duran in Second Life

I’ve been reading about Second Life all over the PR blogosphere, and although I recognise that its an interesting new concept, I had mentally dismissed it as being just a little too geeky for me.
That was until I read on the BBC News website that Duran Duran is planning to hold virtual gigs in Second [...]

The blogging DTs…

I’ve been travelling all week and unable to update my blog.  It’s surprising how much I missed it, actually.  Anyway this is just a quick post to do some shameless self promotion.  The Isle of Man Newspapers website ran a Q&A about business blogging in which I answered some common question. Have a great weekend [...]
