Isle of Man ebusiness boost
Posted on July 10th, 2006 by sherrilynne
Today the BBC is reporting a story about a huge boost to the Isle of Man’s e-business industry.
Strive client Netcetera is opening a £10 million data centre in the Island to serve e-gaming and e-businesses here.
It’s good news for the Island and evidence of our thriving economy.

May the “Trickle down” economics be with you!
By the way: watched a Johnny Depp movie that was partially assembled, on the Isle of Man, on DVD, with Mr. Movie Reviewer husband of mine.
The film is “The Libertine.” And a quick check with Google found this link for you, in case you miss the razzle-dazzle of the North American entertainment busiess.

Exciting news. Are they your client? If so, did you place the story?
I don’t know if you ever explained this — but to all of us who are curious — what IS it like living on the Island?
Yes, Cindy, Netcetera is a Strive client and we did place the story. Also check out my post Why the Isle of Man? to what it’s like here. http://strivepr.com/wordpress/?p=36
Good to see another data centre setting up here, that’s the third this year. Looks like the message about the Isle of Man as a secure and tax efficient operating base is really getting out there.
Rita, I did know about The Libertine. In fact a few months ago I spent an hour with the IoM Film’s director and she gave a history of films made here. There have been loads. John Malkovich is here right now. And Euan McGregor did one a couple of months ago. If you really love dogs check out the new Peter O’Toole flick…Lassie…also made in the Isle of Man.
Fan of dogs? To say I’m a fan is an understatement. I’m sure that Chuck and I will get to the new Lassi film with Garnet, Chuck’s beautiful service dog.
