8 Nov: Jo’s PR top 5

top 5Another top 5 from me, apologies in advance for Number 5. Bit of a rant. I could have gone on forever but you’ll be glad to know that I didn’t…

1.  A discussion I’ve been following for a while and, in the words of Neil Maclean, what a cat fight it’s becoming. It’s brilliant! I agree totally with Wilson Cleveland. Many hard workers seem to be taking the flack for lazy people. I sat up till 1:00am ringing Australian newspapers and publications trying to get the right contacts on two occasions this week…Lazy? I think not!

2. Spamments and Spamversations: How Do You Stay Out of Unwanted Conversations? A bit of a spin off from the above blog. Suffering with unwanted spam? I know I am!

3.   I’ve posted Pete Wilby’s Brass Tack 1 to 4 so I thought why not carry on. Tell the story simply is the new instalment to the list, also known as Brass Tack #5.

4.  Like many, I have been interested in Radiohead’s In Rainbows launch. The discussions around it have been varying, but one month on ComScore reveal the facts.

5.  While looking on the Manx Forums this morning I came across this discussion about a new ‘club’ on the Isle Of Man, which seems to have escalated into a full scale debate.  It starts by attacking the youth (the stripy jumper brigade), but who can blame it. They spoil things for everyone! But not all 18 year-olds are like this. I know from experience I did what I could to avoid this crowd when I was 18, and still do now.
Legends, as I believe it’s now called, has changed names about five times in as many years. New name, new club, new promotions, but it’s all wasted! It’s known territory for ‘the stripy jumper brigade’ and it’s this divide that spoils the Douglas night life.
Fact is, it’s the people who need saving not the pubs.

  1. Number 5 particularly interests me. I agree, I am very impressed with the youth of today. If they were are only customers and a reversal of the 1960’s demographics. Life could be a lot easier. There current grasp on modern technology is equally to none at any recent time in history. Indeed the future is bright.
